We stand strong

"Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;he will answer him from his holy heavenwith the saving might of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright." Psalm 20:6-8
This is a coninuation of the thought I posted yesterday. No matter what is going on around us we need to trust in the Lord. That is often very hard to do and I confess to failing at it often. It is not that I consciously try to avoid the trust it is that I immediately try to work things out when trouble hits. I am not excusing my behavior because I am without excuse or justification. There are times when I can turn trouble over to the Lord and wait on Him but I confess that I do not do that on a daily basis. That is because my eyes are usually focused on me and what is happening before me. And yet the real battle is an eternal one: one that has been won. My eyes need to be focused above me. I am reminded of Peter's failure to walk on the water and I would be in the water with him. May God strengthen us to trust Him this day and every day.
